INVESTIGATORS from the Organised Crime Investigation Division (OCID) last Friday arrested one person on suspicion of human trafficking following operations at five locations in the Corporate Area and St Catherine.
Another person was also taken into custody but was processed and released.
OCID personnel are reporting that during the course of their operations, seven assumed victims of human trafficking were rescued. The assumed victims, all of Indian descent, have been placed in safe places. The operations were conducted based on intelligence and surveillance done on a number of business establishments over the last three months.
